Dia Broncucia
Dia Broncucia was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago, and had been living in a shelter in Denver for a year when she heard about her acceptance into Denver Basic Income Project in late 2022.
Whilst Dia was undergoing two dozen rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, her partner, Justin Searls, recently lost his job. Luckily, both of them applied and were accepted as participants in Group B, receiving $6,500 upfront in late 2022 and $500/month for the next 11 months.
