Hunter Ambrose
Published author and mother of three, Hunter used the payments to provide for her family and secure stable housing in a new apartment.
Hunter Ambrose is a Group C participant, receiving $50 per month. She lives in a two-bedroom apartment with her three children. Just a year ago, the 31-year-old mother and her kids were living out of their Kia, parked on the side of the road, or, when possible, renting a room in an Extended Stay hotel.
The $50 monthly support helped Hunter cover essential expenses like phone bills, groceries, and gas. While struggling to access services like food stamps or childcare, Hunter found the project’s approach refreshing. It took just three weeks for her application to be approved, and she was treated with respect and dignity.
Hunter has since become a strong advocate for guaranteed income. She’s used her platform, including her large TikTok audience, to champion the cause and even spoke at our 2024 Guaranteed Income Rally.
Additionally, she is a published author of Relentless: Surviving the Los Angeles Foster Care System and Emancipation.
“For many participants in this study, myself included, this initiative was a light guiding us through the darkness.”
