Hilliard “L” McAlpin

Group A participant who used the funds to pay off his debts, reconnect with his family, and build credit.

Upon his release from prison in 2015, L faced homelessness, job struggles, separation from his children, and mounting debt that weighed on him heavily.

When L was accepted into Group A, he began using the funds to pay off his debts and build credit.

Over time, he rented hotel rooms, helped family with rent, and gained stability. The program also helped him address PTSD, reconnect with his family, and support one of his children through college. The support provided him with the stability and resources needed to improve his life.

[The payments] made me focus on bettering my life as well as putting my family back together.
