Moriah Rodriguez

Denver Basic Income Project participant and mother of four.

Moriah Rodriguez was evicted from her Denver home in 2022. Her main source of income was federal assistance due to a disability caused by being hit by a drunk driver.

Her daughter told her about the Denver Basic Income Project (DBIP) and urged her to apply. Despite being skeptical and hesitant, Moriah applied and was selected to participate in the program.

Moriah is now enrolled in school and studying to receive her GED. She has become a major advocate for DBIP and recently joined our team in D.C. for the NAEH Conference, where she spoke with legislators on Capitol Hill about furthering guaranteed income in Colorado.

It’s helped so much in my life... this pilot program could be a transformational thing for people throughout the city.
